No matter how many years have come and gone, the PC market will always have some talented people that help make the platform extremely versatile. The Tomb Raider series launched way back in 1996 and has since become a massive series in the world of video games, but the first three games in the series paved the foundation for what we loved so much about Lara. Unfortunately, these old games are still plagued by very old game mechanics, but that is all about to change for PC owners of the first three original games.
Realtech VR is a company known for porting Tomb Raider 1 and 2 to mobile devices and have taken it upon themselves to remaster the games on PC. I’ve been following the development of these remasters quite closely as it’s based on the mobile versions they developed. I know, hearing ‘based on’ and ‘mobile’ in the same line sounds terrifying, but there is nothing to fear – it’s looking great. The big news is that they’ve now been given the green light to develop the third game to… and it’ll be FREE if you own the original titles on Steam, as they confirmed in a below tweet:
TR1-3 remaster for PC are planned for Steam for free and will requires the purchase of the DOS version being sold on Steam (like ZDoom playing Doom games). Also the PC version will supports OpenVR and features a new 3D engine for both 3 games.
